VentureNavigator crosses ‘70,000 helped’ mark as one year anniversary approaches
Created November 2008
Online service for entrepreneurs grows user base, number of requests for advice and guidance
VentureNavigator is celebrating its one-year anniversary during Enterprise Week 2008, running from 17 – 23 November. Enterprise Week consists of thousands of activities run by organisations across the UK to encourage individuals to unlock their enterprising talent.
In the past year, VentureNavigator has drastically grown to help and advise more than 5,000 users. The VentureNavigator service has been immensely active over the course of the year, delivering more than 70,000 interventions, which include users taking assessments, accessing the resource library, or interacting with other users in the community.
“We are proud that even one year later the service remains free to all its users. VentureNavigator has a tremendous amount of information available to address areas of business that concern individuals starting their own business, regardless of its sector,” said Janice Pittis, Project Director for VentureNavigator. “In addition to the business resources and assessment tools, VentureNavigator has a valuable community forum where individuals can seek advice from other users.” “
VentureNavigator now offers 14 different assessments that allow individuals to answer questions on topics such as Investment Readiness, Showing Leadership and General Business Viability and receive customised feedback on how to improve their business. Users can alter their answers at a later time after making changes to their business, and receive new feedback about how these changes fair with their plan as a whole.
The online platform has more than 600 resources to advise budding entrepreneurs on topics such as creating a business model, protecting intellectual property, guaranteeing stable funding and tips on networking. In September 2008, VentureNavigator launched a selection of dedicated resources for those in creative industries such as performing arts, design, music and art.
