  1. Hi Roanne,

My initial feeling is that very few people would be prepared to pay £30 each week.

However, the best way to find out is by getting out onto the streets of Exeter armed with a load of questionnaires. You want to find out if people are interested in footcare, how often they would use such a service, how much they would be prepared to pay, etc. This will indicate if there is a market for your service.

    Good luck!

    Lee

  2. I am wondering where anyone would get the ridiculous idea that people are prepared to pay £30 for footcare each week?!
If anyone has so many problem that they need footcare so regularly then they should be seeing the NHS Podiatrist as an "at-risk" patient.
  3. That's a very supportive answer from Jane Middleton!

It's not a "ridiculous idea" if the foot care being referred to is reflexology or other therapy. My sister is a qualified reflexologist and has several clients who attend weekly. Others on a fortnightly or monthly basis. She doesn't live in Exeter though! You do need to do some market research as Lee Longstaff suggests. Good luck with it.

  4. Hello Roanne,

You know, this is a new one on me; and I my initial thoughts are you would need a lot of clients on a regular basis to keep things moving. I don't somehow see this as a massive business venture but, I certainly do see you making a good living from it as a lifestyle business.

You would in my opinion need some very high quality marketing material to get your name out their and perhaps medically approved to fetch the right results. It is a difficult model Roanne but I am sure that there must be a lot of people out there who would appreciate your service.

You probably have thought of this already but, it may be a good idea to contact care homes and such institutions and freelance your services to the larger groups for such patients that may sadly be suffering with aches and pains and perhaps a gentle massage on their feet, which we all know is connected to the psyche and internal organs and spine of humans could almost certainly bring reprieve.

I sincerely wish you all the best luck, and if I come across anything which your model would fit into, I will give you a shout.
