Management Team Founder Shares with VC/PE funding

We have recently formed a company in specialist sector.  We have created the business, cashflow projections, P&L etc and is attracting a great deal of interest in terms of the revenue/profit profile,  payback period etc.  We are now seeking capital funding ideally at 100% witha payback period of 3 years for a capital outlay of circa £45m.  How can we as the management team and founders of the business share in the profits/buyout of the equity investor, someone has mentioned founder shares, though I am not sure how they work.  Can we get the stage whereby we buy-out the investor?
