Anyone got any suggestions for finding and working with a business mentor?

  1. Hi Melanie,

I would suggest speaking to your Chamber of Comerce and see if they can help suggest someone for you. They are usually well connected. Getting out to networking events is also a good way of meeting people and the speakers can often be possible mentors.

I'm not sure what sector you are in but why don't you make a list of companies that inspire you and then see if a possible mentor comes out of that?

    Good luck

  2. Hi Melanie,

Some enterprise agencies offer mentoring schemes, so it could be worth contacting your nearest one and seeing if they have a programme (www.nfea.com).

If you're within the 18-30 bracket, then the Prince's Trust sometimes offer mentoring to small businesses.

Other than that, Laura's advice should be useful too!
