  1. Basically you need to put in some good old fashioned hard work and get on the phone and speak to people. Dont take a long time preparing just get the confindence to pick up the phone and make contact.

If people are not aware of you they cannot employ you. Choose companies you think will most likely need your services and find out if they use security firms? if not why not? if they do, who arranges the contract? who they use? when the contract is up for renewal? What would make them switch supplier? basic questions but vital to start building a contact base.

Get working and you will find you get the answers and get the contacts. hope this helps and best of luck.
  2. Hi,

As well as Rob's excellent advice, I'd recommend networking as much as possible. The likes of your local Business Link (or national equivalent), enterprise agency or the economic development unit at your local council, should all be able to tell you about networking groups in your area.

  3. Business and science parks, sport, music and entertainment venues, festival and special event organisers, nightclubs, pubs, PR agencies working for celebrities....

Security services are mainly going to be aimed at other businesses, make sure these businesses know your business exists, as well as what Rob and Lee have suggested make your service stand out.

Consider joining the British Security Industry Association, or gaining a qualification: www.skillsforsecurity.org.uk
