Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced courier company that deals with small businesses.

I am based in Essex and am an occasional user of courier services for deliveries nationwide. Most of the big couriers such as DHL, UPS, TNT are not interested unless I have an account. I need a reasonably priced courier who is happy to deal with small businesses.

  1. Hi Adam,

I may know someone but they are more of a multi drop business as single deliveries are not cost effective these days.

If you can let me know specifics like sizes, fragile, hazard or not, quantity and which town you work I will ask him if he is interested and I can either reply to you or you can send an email address and I will have him email you.

  2. If your volumes are low and/or you require collection sporadically Parcelforce is actually not a bad option. You can schedule one-off collections on their web site or by phone without having to sign-up for an account and just pay by credit card.
  3. You may want to try contacting Carmel on reception at the Barclays Venture Centre. I picked up a leaflet in my mailbox there for a local delivery man & van but I binned it as we never use such services. At a guess there will be a few spares lying around in reception.

  4. believe it or not, the royal mail also does a great service, if you can drop off at the post office. i use them for getting packages from one remote part of the west coast of scotland to another - they do it overnight, and the price is good!
